The Key Path to Virtue

Will automatically follows vision…The genius of Christianity is that it interconnects the heart, the will, the divine spirit, and links virtue to surrender.  The lesson of Gethsemane is that a man is most virile not when he insists upon his autonomous will, but when he harmonizes his will with the will of God.”  –Sam Keen

So, to me, that means we first have to do the internal work to seek God’s will, the most important vision a person can have, and then abandon our selfish pursuits that don’t correspond with His divinely-guided will for our lives.  Once the two are aligned, we can to some extent relax (though staying diligent to stay the course) that we are on the path that leads to virtue, the best good for ourselves and others with which we influence.
